Equal Rights Amendment

Standard

Did you know it still exists?  I didn’t until last fall.  I do recall my mother, lifetime member of NOW (National Organization for Women) having all her friends in our living room disguising how women’s rights are infringed upon, how ERA needed to pass and something about all women boycotting work for a day to watch the Nation come to a halt.  Not sure how that went at all, I just sort of let it go and went to my room and did something else.

Here is the text of the Amendment:

Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.

And here is the jest of it all, this Amendment can be ratified if 3 more states pass it.  You see only three of the following states needs to pass it and it can now pass:  Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Utah and Virginia.  Read above, this isn’t just equal rights for women – but men too.

And Feminists don’t think they are superior to men.  There are men who are feminists too.  We don’t burn our bras – many of us need them to support those pups.  We never did burn our bras, that was pure myth made up by those who wanted to portray us as “radical”.  After all, who would want to get out of the kitchen and stop being a baby vessel?  Now go to this link and tell the White House we need action!  Click HERE – Thanks ya’ll!
